The key message is in there
The client wants the line about putting customers first. The CEO, the head of sales and two customers all said something like it, in long answers, across three hours of interviews.
A morning of leadership interviews, three customer testimonials, a day of office b-roll and a list of key messages to hit. Ask for the best answer about sustainability and get the take, the line and its timecode.
14 days free, then $59 a year or $7.99 a month. Works with your Claude or ChatGPT plan; timelines need DaVinci Resolve Studio 21.1+. Clip descriptions are optional and use your own API key, billed by Anthropic or OpenAI.

Legal and comms read before they watch. Ordering transcripts, waiting for them and matching every approved line back to timecode adds days to each review round.
The launch film, a 30-second cutdown, an all-hands version and four social clips. Each one sends someone back through the same rushes to find the same lines.
Prewatch indexes every clip on your Mac, so Claude or ChatGPT knows what is in your footage and can build the cut with you in DaVinci Resolve Studio.
| What you get | Where it runs | What it does for you |
|---|---|---|
| Transcripts ready for review | On your Mac | Every answer transcribed on the Mac with its times, one file with the whole shoot's lines for legal and comms, and subtitle files per clip. |
| Questions and answers apart | On your Mac | In each interview, the voices are told apart, so the interviewer's questions are easy to skip. Name the speakers once and the name follows them across clips; voiceprints stay on your Mac. |
| Interviews and b-roll apart | Claude or OpenAI | Each clip's role, such as interview, b-roll or establishing, so the office walkthrough isn't mixed in with the answers. With your own API key. |
| Takes you can't use | On your Mac | Soft focus, under- and overexposure, flat log and frozen frames flagged, so a bad take is caught before it reaches a client cut. |
| Steady b-roll for voiceover | On your Mac | Each shot's camera motion, from locked off to handheld, and its steadiest seconds marked, for cutaways that hold under a voiceover. |
| Nothing uploaded, no account | On your Mac | Footage under NDA stays on your Mac. With descriptions on, only keyframes, one contact sheet and transcript text go out, with your own key. |
You ask in Claude or ChatGPT. Prewatch answers with the clips, the seconds and the timecode, and your assistant builds the timeline in DaVinci Resolve Studio.
The answers from each interviewee that cover it, strongest first, with the exact lines and their timecode.
Your AI appThe steadiest stretches of the b-roll that show it, with in and out points for each.
Your AI appA timeline in DaVinci Resolve Studio with the strongest lines in order and steady b-roll picked for each.
Your AI appYes. Transcripts are plain files: JSON, WebVTT and SubRip per clip, with a time on every line, and one Markdown file with every line of the folder. Send them as they are or paste them into your review document.
Indexing, transcription and search run on your Mac, with no account and nothing uploaded. Descriptions stay off until you add your own Claude or OpenAI API key, and even then no video or audio is sent. If you chat in Claude or ChatGPT, what Prewatch answers becomes part of that conversation, under your account and that company's terms.
Prewatch builds timelines only in DaVinci Resolve Studio 21.1 or later; a file handoff for Final Cut Pro and the free Resolve is planned. Transcripts, flags and search work whatever you edit in, because the index is plain files beside the footage.
Building timelines by chat needs DaVinci Resolve Studio 21.1 or later, whose built-in MCP server lets your assistant work in Resolve. With the free version you can still index your footage, search it and ask Claude or ChatGPT about it, then place the clips yourself. A file handoff that the free version can import is planned.
Prewatch is an App Store subscription with a 14-day free trial: $59 a year or $7.99 a month after it. You manage or cancel it in your Apple Account's subscription settings; cancel before the trial ends and you are not charged.
Point Prewatch at a folder you have already shot, then ask about it in Claude or ChatGPT.
